Rabbi Danielle (as most students call her) has served as Hillel’s rabbi and Executive Director for 5 years. She graduated from The Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in 2002, and very much enjoys serving the students at OU and the local Jewish community. She’s married to Kevin Haworth, author and English Professor at Ohio University, and is the mother of two delightful young children, Zev and Ruthie.

Lori Gromen has served as Hillel’s Office Administrator for 5 years, and has lived in Athens for almost 15 years! A Cincinnati native and an Ohio University graduate, Lori loves Athens and the surrounding areas. She’s married to Kent Butler, Frisbee coach for the OU men’s team and incoming Athens City Council Representative. Lori is a yoga enthusiast, biker, Frisbee star, and gardener. We’re lucky to have her on Hillel’s team.
Student Interns
Hillel’s student intern team creates exciting and diverse Jewish programs for the student community at Ohio University. They’re a paid group of students chosen from a large and competitive applicant pool at the end of each school year, and Hillel encourages incoming or prospective students to contact our interns for information about Jewish life on campus. They’d love to hear from you!

Work Study Students
Hillel is fortunate to receive FAFSA work study students each year. Our work study students help create programs, assist with PR and Marketing, manage our data bases, and in general, keep things running smoothly at Hillel. We love our work study students dearly and allow them to make their own work schedules – nights, mornings, weekends, holidays. Interested? Be in touch with Lori Gromen, Hillel’s office administrator.
